President Robert Mugabe has arrived in the Rwandan capital Kigali where he joins other continental leaders for the 27th African Union Summit.

He was met at Kigali International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who travelled ahead of the presidential delegation, Zimbabwe's ambassador to Tanzania, Cde Edzai Chimonyo who also covers Rwanda and embassy officials based in Adis Ababa, the seat of the AU.

President Mugabe is accompanied by ministers Thabeth Kanengoni Malinga, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, some officials from the gender commission including the chairperson, Cde Magaret Sangarwe and her deputy, Cde Paul Kadzima .

Mrs Sangarwe said Zimbabwean women have made great strides towards upliftment but they still need to attain 50 fifty representation in decision making positions and economic empowerment through availing of loan facilities and a women's bank.
